Sam Kerr spotted on video call with Mary Fowler in Matildas camp despite ACL injury

Sam Kerr will play no on-field part in the Matildas’ upcoming Olympic campaign, but it seems she will be there — at least virtually — every step of the way regardless. Kerr is recovering from the ACL injury she suffered during training with her WSL club Chelsea in January and will be sidelined for all of 2024.

Sam Kerr makes FaceTime appearance at Matildas training. But the superstar Ballon d’Or nominee is staying in regular contact with the team as they prepare for Paris. Kerr was spotted on a video call on Monday with fellow star striker Mary Fowler, who will be vital to the team’s Olympic hopes in Kerr’s absence. Fowler and Courtney Nevin were seen chatting to Kerr, through a phone, outside the team hotel ahead of the Matildas’ final pre-Games hitout against China on Monday night.
