Man charged over fatal shooting of South Mackay woman ‘not known to’ his alleged victim

A Queensland woman allegedly shot dead while she sat in a car with children did not know the man who has been accused of her murder, police say. A 31-year-old man allegedly shot the 34-year-old woman outside a Robb Pl home in South Mackay about 5.20pm on Wednesday.

Man arrested over fatal shooting. The motive for the alleged slaying has not been established. “It is understood the pair were not known to each other, however resided on the same street,” police said in a statement. Two children also in the car ran away, while a 66-year-old man who came to the woman’s aid was also allegedly shot through the hand and chest. He was taken to Mackay Hospital in a serious condition.
