Governments shouldn’t be afraid to cut immigration numbers, reform the dole and and construct new power plants as part of a bold agenda to boost Australia’s economy, according to Tony Abbott's former chief economist, Andrew Stone. In his new book ‘Restoring Hope’, Dr Stone said permanent migration should be cut to 110,000 —a move he said would decrease house prices and boost fertility rates.

Cut pr numbers means int students will go elsewhere. Its an enormous revenue loss.

So it wasn’t just looney Abbott he had a whole office of stupid science deniers with small economy short term plans for Australia

You have got to be joking, ClimateEmergency

is this the fool that advised Abbott about that 2014 budget the most deceitful budget in Australian political history. It cost Abbott, Hockey & others their jobs & 15% LNP primary vote. To slash & burn everything & then some despite running a 2013 campaign on no cuts. Moron.

quelineruby64 Exactly What happens to a automobile when you just add more passengers There is a limit to its capacity

'reform the dole' Code for gut the dole, have people dumped onto the streets and have the charity sector take up the problem. These stooges on their fat salaries are like clockwork.

Both Tony Abbott and John Howard had the top job and none of the above ever happened, all talk no action. A classic case of 'coulda shoulda'.

Worst PM ever! Must be a garbage chief economists, remember lifters not leaners. Wow.

Liberals are using immigration to artificially boost the economy auspol

Ironically, CC denial with lead to climate refugees seeking refuge (places like the South Pacific, Asia & Bangladesh etc), they will all want to come to Australia. Now, ppl without any scientific background may scoff, but they are not scientists & they will facilitate this.

“Reform the dole “ as in attack people’s social security rights !

I wonder what his thoughts are on the 1/3rd of companies in Aus that aren't paying any tax. Them paying their share would surely boost the economy much more than cutting immigration etc

Former! As in Tony Abbott’s train wreck former Govt

Little research job for you.... Click search.... What year was the last dam built ? What was Australia's population in that year ? What is Australia's population now ? Ya see the problem ? If you dont invest in the future then you don't have one 😡

Governments should only ever consider immigration when a clear need has been identified, and then, only and completely on the terms of the host country with checks as to cultural compatibility.

True, true and true

How will people want to make more babies if the immigration numbers are cut?
