From WSJopinion: The coronavirus outbreak proves it’s time to close China’s “wet markets” once and for all, write Christian Walzer and Aili Kang

Chinese scientists have identified a “wet market”—where live and dead animals, including many wildlife species, are sold for consumption—as the chief suspect for the origin of the Wuhan coronavirus.

The virus is closely related to the virus that caused the 2003 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, which also was transmitted to humans from a wet market. China closed all markets that sell wildlife and temporarily banned the shipment and sale of wildlife throughout the country.

opinion Who the hell are we tell China what to do ?

opinion This seems a bit irresponsible to post prior to root cause analysis. There is a Chinese virology research center in Wuhan, studying the exact type of disease we’re seeing infect folks....accidental release is statistically more likely...

opinion Chinese is not the only culture w wet market. 😑 We should thrive for education n improvement but please don’t force others way of life.

opinion WTH, China? Join the modern world someday, hopefully soon.

opinion It's time to close China.

opinion Wet market is not the source, the source is P4 lab and CCP

opinion I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a chinese bio lab leaking the virus

opinion There are wet markets all over SE Asia; instead let’s devise instant gene sequencing and 1-3day vaccine creation. SARS2003 took a team 1.5wks to sequence. Now it’s a few hours for one lab.

opinion P4 lab or wet markets?

opinion Why is Trump Adm flying 200+ US diplomats from Wuhan into LA suburb tomorrow. Why no quarantine?

opinion Oh sure. Like we can tell China what to do. 🙄

opinion It might’ve been a good idea to shut that down a while ago

opinion the places are like sewers, with live animals and diced up ones inches apart, with sick people coughing and stacked up against each other..

opinion Wait one moment. China is ur best bud.
