PETALING JAYA: Doubles shuttler Lee Meng Yean is banking on a training stint in Thailand with her former coach Rexy Mainaky to defy the odds at the Asia Team Championships.

Meng Yean, Chow Mei Kuan, M. Thinaah, Soniia Cheah and S. Kisona are in Bangkok for a short training session at two different venues.

Meng Yean is happy to be reunited with Rexy, who left the BAM fold after serving as doubles chief coach for seven and half years. Meng Yean-Mei Kuan, who are the nation’s No. 1 pair, have stagnated in the last year, without any major titles to show. In fact, they have been early round casualties in most tournaments.
