Sky News Political Editor aclennell says the prime minister is expected to extend the coronavirus travel ban by 14 days, a decision that will have 'real effects on the economy and indeed the surplus”.

Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell says the prime minister is expected to extend the coronavirus travel ban by 14 days. Mr Clennell said the decision – expected to be announced late on Thursday - “has real effects on the economy and indeed the surplus”.

“If the ban were to last the rest of the financial year, which let’s face it could happen, you’re probably saying goodbye to your surplus,” he said. "At the moment the prime minister is obviously putting the security and safety of Australian citizens ahead of the economy and I think most Australians would agree with that.” Image: Getty

aclennell The good health of the Australian people or Tourist Dollars. The choice is obvious.

aclennell I am sure everone will understand, LOL. I would rather the country be in debt than people running around with a deadly virus. Plus the LNP already said bushfire relief comes before the surplus.
