EIA reports a 109 billion cubic foot weekly decline in U.S. supplies

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Thursday that domestic supplies of natural gas fell by 109 billion cubic feet for the week ended Feb. 28. Analysts polled by S&P Global Platts forecast a decline of 105 billion cubic feet. Total stocks now stand at 2.091 trillion cubic feet, up 680 billion cubic feet from a year ago, and 176 billion cubic feet above the five-year average, the government said. April natural gas was down 1 cent, or 0.6%, at $1.818 per million British thermal units. It was trading at $1.816 shortly before the data.
