Australia is feuding with the global health body after it supported reopening wet markets – but experts say the risks can be managed.

The devastating coronavirus is believed to have originated in the live animal market in Wuhan, China before the illness spread across the world, killing thousands.“I’m totally puzzled by this decision,” Mr Morrison told Nine.

“Everything put their mind to is absolutely possible. And I think we're in a new world now,” Prof Johnson said. Prof Johnson said there were animal species that should be banned from wet markets to prevent another pandemic from occurring. “It is certainly an issue and we need to be careful that some of the poorest people in the world must have access to food, but we also need to be aware of the disease transmission.

'Experts' in what? Animal Cruelty?

Stick to your guns Australia. Barbic acts of extreme cruelty on animals, including endangered species. Stand your ground Australia & boycott!

but batter chicken farms pose the same risk all over the world. Whats being done abt them?

It didn't come from the wet markets it came from a lab!!!!!

Does PETA have a view?

News com delusion. Take your meds Rupert.

Yeah, trust China. That’ll work.

Markets are the only source of food for many people. I think if managed and well regulated they need to open. Regulating is a problem historically but one thing China is good at is enforcing their will on the people. The population do not have large supermarkets on every corner.

How about NO

BoycottChina BoycottChineseProducts DefundTheUN DefundTheWHO

What we need to know is whether this has happened: “Prof Johnson said a good start to making wet markets safer would be banning the sale of most species of primates and many species of bats.” Perhaps could follow up on this.

Plus now the Chinese are evicting all black Africans out of their homes, another abuse of human rights to add to the list. The UN refuse to condemn China, and support them more than any other country. And we keep funding this organisation, does that not make us as bad as the UN?

Just word from our PM, he won't tell them no trade until you stop doing it

it should of closed centuries ago disgusting people who buy from it

This is outrageous.

Fools

China owns WHO so why is this surprising anyone?

What a shock! The WHO supports China again! What a corrupt, useless organization.

We all know the WHO is just another division of China's government. It was plainly obvious with their parroting of China's propoganda during the outbreak. china

🤬

Because there more on the look out for bioterrorism from the USA!

Banning China’s wet markets could drive the trade to the ‘black market’ | Sky News AustraliaFormer Labor MP Michael Danby says Australia cannot have easy relations with a system like China which “not just in wet markets, but in all other areas, seems to be a player that’s rogue in the international system”.\n\nThe wet markets in Wuhan have widely been attributed as the source of the deadly virus, but Mr Danby said in China there is a “wider problem than the wet markets”.\n\nHe pointed to the “two million Uighur Muslims in concentration camps” and how communist China has “militarised the South China Sea” as crucial issues in China’s system which prevent reasonable foreign relations.\n\nFellow panelist and Greens Senator Sarah Hanson Young told Sky News host Sharri Markson she is “concerned about the call just to ban wet markets in China” fearing the move would drive the practice to the “black market”.\n\n“The last thing we want is to push that underground,” Ms Hanson Young said.\n\nIn contrast, NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham said the Chinese government was supposed to close the wet markets down after the 2002 SARS outbreak, and if it had done so “the world wouldn’t be suffering the enormous health and economic damage” caused by the coronavirus pandemic.\n\nImage: Getty UK PM BorisJohnson leaves hospital after that he said HydroxyChloroquine saved My life..Covid_19 Penny has finally dropped! People need to understand what a Chinese wet market really is. One Bloomberg reporter said they are the equivalent of an American 'Farmers Market', here in Australia we also have farmer markets. The problem here is people are also very slow in understanding what is reality.
