Agents of the NBI filed charges against two men who attempted to procure an access device, a third-party banking account used by hackers to divert stolen funds.

Jayson de la Cruz and Kevin Marmolejo, who allegedly conspired in procuring the access device, were charged with violations of Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.De la Cruz posted an advertisement on Facebook, saying he was looking to buy an access device. Automated teller machine cards and legitimate online banking accounts are some of the examples of access devices.

An entrapment operation was launched against De la Cruz on Wednesday on General Luis Street in Novaliches, Quezon City.
