Might want to think beyond basic goods, most people can't pay basic cost of living for less than $15 an hour.
I don't have a problem with paying a federal minimum wage of $15. per hour but that means my technological job is worth a lot more than $24 an hour correct & the years of studying, college & all the on the job training means that that we should be giving a heafty raise as well.
Until the cost of goods sold increases proportional to the wage increase then it impacts all consumers.

I agree with the 15.00 per hour. I just don't agree with the drastic jump. This should have been made gradual years ago. Bump it up 5.00 increments every couple years. Until we reach 15

15 dollars is not enough, 15 was what it should have been ten years ago. Most households can not survive on 15 dollars an hour in this economy without struggling deeply.

Would this $15 minimum wage apply to high school students living at home wanting to earn a few bucks spending money? Seems high why not have a system that works for everyone involved instead of a hard and fast number? Should a waiter making $250 a night tips need $15 an hour?

This is exactly right. Decent wages at the lower end will almost entirely be spent into the real economy this boosting overall activity. People earning 15 dollars an hour are not going to be investing that money. They are going to spend it.
