GEORGE TOWN, May 3 — The movement control order in Penang will remain intact tomorrow, with the conditional movement control order to be enforced from May 8 onwards, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced today. The Penang lawmaker said Penang will not enforce CMCO tomorrow as announced by the federal government, but will do it gradually.

“Only companies that are allowed to operate during the first, second and third phase of MCO are allowed to continue operations for the next four days from tomorrow,” he said in his Facebook live message today. He said the state will only allow selected sectors to reopen starting May 8 under the CMCO, and finally other sectors on May 13.

Many hotels in Penang closing, no business....

I hope Johor will follow this way too 😩😭. I see too many peoples and cars. Even mall began to open today. Not to mention, there is no SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL

You will see crowd during the peak hours. Social distancing? It is difficult to control when you are on Conditional MCO. People must be disciplined. Lucky dine-ins not allowed in Selangor 👌

Kawasan hijau tak berani buka... Kawasan merah terkinja2. Moga tiada jangkitan serius berlaku di kawasan PKPB

Biasalah pembangkang, mana ada benda yg boleh setuju dgn Lawan dia

...partial opening itself is meaningless and more so if the other states remain closed when viewing the bigger picture of the intricate network of the 'supply-chain'. It's all or nothing.

Very good

I thought some ministers said “a lot of studies have been done”?

Wise decision.

Noted...ic can?
