59 business groups urge all states to restart economy

Commerce and industry are integral to the nation’s economic and social well-being, and must be allowed to function continuously, says a declaration signed by 59 chambers of commerce and industry associations. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 5, 2020.

FIFTY-NINE chambers of commerce and industry associations have pledged support for Putrajaya’s decision to allow most economic sectors to reopen under the conditional movement-control order , which took effect yesterday. In a joint declaration issued today, the groups said it is critical for businesses to resume operations nationwide.
