Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel has criticised the reopening of markets while Churches remain closed in Nigeria.
However, Oyedepo on Wednesday morning during the Covenant Hour of Prayer programme of the Church held at its headquarters in Otta, Ogun State, broadcast live to members, said the continuous closure of churches was suspicious. “I can smell a rat behind the closure of Churches. The Lord spoke to me about it. It’s part of moves to stop the Church from spreading.“The devil is surely targeting the people, but God’s words says I shall build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail.
God did not tell you anything, stop misleading the people in the name of God. The church is not your 500,000 seat auditorium, but the children of God. Just tell the government they are disrupting your business centre.
The church is not close because we are the church not your building of business.

Religious are the largest revenue collection points after oil and customs revenue's collection in Nigeria. Religion is the opium of poor man and religion leaders are taking advantage of this,there is no where in the bible that says you must come to church.

Churches are taking from d people & couldn't give back to them when help is most needed. It made me believe an activist pastor who said, they are collecting from the people to build their Empires, live in luxuries, having jets while members live in abject poverty. God will judge.
While I'm not against the MOG, but let's talk fact, despite d numerous churches in Nigeria, she is still the worst country on earth. Why is d churches have no effect on d Nation? If d prayers of d Churches cannot change the situation of the Country there is no point 4 expansion.

This is same reason why some Clerics flouted the Lockdown order in April. We should not read myopic meaning to the restrictions in the name of religion. The lives of the congregants matter most.
