Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Paul Kelly has praised the prime minister’s three-step plan to reopen the economy as a “watershed moment in our response to this virus in Australia”.

“That roadmap is clear, it goes into many different sectors of our society and economy and how that will be envisage to open up over the coming months,” he said.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Mr Kelly said the states and territories would be implementing the strategy according to different timelines. He said the only possible “roadblock” to the roadmap would be if the number of infections spiked as lockdown measures were lifted Mr Kelly also encouraged Australians to maintain strict hygiene and social distancing practices. Of cause he has, you always lick the arse of those who pay you big bucks, rather than bite the hand that feeds you. If he was working for trump he probably be fired by now 😆

Thank you Daniel Andrews 🙏

This is ridiculous.

Just a piece of paper until we get a vaccine. Reopening businesses means fk all when most people won’t go out or spend like before.

ScottMorrisonMP, the Puppet, is a great disappointment. It is of no consequence to me what a medical bureaucrat thinks.

Excellent plan and both Commonwealth & States via the National Cabinet should be commended.

Like watergate waterrorts in the Upper Murray Darling were a watershed moment for the lives of century-old cod whose species flourished in their waterways for millennia. Ah well, just like our Chinese-export-market booming OZ economy, all good runs must have an end 🤨 auspol

Probably best to avoid that colour coding for a couple of years though

Yep you win

He is a No bodies man with a No bodies plan. He Doesn't call the shots. Thank GOD for that

Except in Victoriastan with Comrade Dan

Government roadmap a 'great start' to recovery for tourism industry | Sky News AustraliaTourism and Transport Forum CEO Margy Osmond says the government’s roadmap to reopening is a “great start, but obviously what we now need is dates and we need some clarity and certainty around that”.\n\nThe tourism industry is estimated to have been one of the hardest hit by the economic fallout of the coronavirus crisis. \n\nMs Osmond told Sky News 'before we get too optimistic,” tourism operators would have to wait for the premiers’ announcements on the states’ and territories’ independent timelines.\n\n“As a whole the industry is now pretty focused on what recovery looks like and that bright light at the end of the tunnel,” she said. \n\n“Aviation will be critical to the rebirth of the domestic tourism economy in the first instance and hopefully the rebirth of business travel here in Australia too. \n\n“I do think the other part of this is confidence, it’s all very well to turn the tap back on but Australians have to feel confident about travelling, that it will be safe and – if in fact they have got leave because many people will have used up their paid leave as part of this process.”\n\nImage: Getty We need the country opened up, now, action, not talk and kicking the can, or waffling on a soap box! Open up the country. The stats/data, does not justify it being locked up , at all, any more! Get HCQ + Combo, to GP's to prescribe as required! Lifting KJ support early for those who supply tourism and those who supply services that support it is a big mistake, borders will remain closed, travellers restricted for a long time to come and the industry needs to pivot to a much smaller different customer base, new products It's Not up to the Federal Government. They can give guidelines but it is Up to the State's for Certainly and Clarity. ScottyFomMarketing just clouds the water.

Decision to implement three-step plan up to state, territory leaders | Sky News AustraliaDuring questions after his announcement on Friday, Scott Morrison announced it was be up the state and territory premiers to outline their own timeline for implementing the three-step plan to reopen Australia.\n\n“They have all got different starting points but the important point is the whole country has the same end point and that is to get to a COVID safe economy,” he said. \n\nWhen asked whether he would support the “no jab, no play” policy for anti-vax NRL players, the prime minister said he had “a lot of sympathy for that”. \n\nHe said again the decision would ultimately be up the state and territory leaders to make a decision and “if they were to be insisting on that then I would think that was entirely reasonable.” \n\nImage: News Corp Australia ScottMorrisonMP Remember everyone, the Constitution 1900.
