Jacinda Ardern's Labour Party has released its first election policy ahead of New Zealand's 19 September election - business support to hire new workers in the COVID-hit economy.

New Zealand has reached a major milestone in its fight against the coronavirus: 100 days without community transmission of the disease.

Ms Ardern has been given top marks by Kiwis for her government's response to the pandemic, enjoying record popularity after the tough but successful lockdown which eliminated COVID-19 and allowed the domestic economy to reopen. At Saturday's campaign launch, she warned voters to expect a"COVID election campaign" revolving around the country's ravaged economy.

The northernmost seat is the No.1 target of Winston Peters' party, which they must win if they are to defy public polling and return to parliament.

The embarrassing thing is that it is a National Party Policy released in 2012 .......Labour failed to support it then but copied in and announced it as theirs at their campaign launch thinking no one would know 🤣🤣🤣🤣 typical of this incompetent Coalition and jacindaardern

Wouldnt you hire existing labour that got laid off so they wont be new
