9:59 a.m. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is soaring after Russia announced that it had approved a Covid-19 vaccine.
The Dow has gained 337 points, or 1.2%, while the S&P 500 has risen 0.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite has declined 0.4%. The S&P 500’s rise puts the index closer to an all-time high. Of course, Russia’s announcement shouldn't be taken at face value.
