The government is not ruling out a legal challenge to open state borders, according to Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack.

The Morrison government is pressuring states to open their borders to kickstart a lagging economy. Mr McCormack told Sky News the national cabinet process has worked well so far, but said the legal challenge option could be on the table. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she won’t be moved on the issue.

M_McCormackMP 7mths into this pandemic and still no plan 2. Closed hard borders ARE STILL the only solution to stop covid spreading. ScottMorrisonMP and his mates just criticise plan 1. By now they should have a plan 2 that uses technology and bio security to MAKE BORDERS SAFE.

M_McCormackMP OPEN THE BORDERS ScottMorrisonMP and free the people in Victoria. Covid is not going to kill them but the disastrous consequences of the lockdown.

M_McCormackMP Just bloody do it then 🤬🤬

M_McCormackMP Stupid idea

M_McCormackMP Just do it. So sick of the malmsey pansy talk. Open the bloody borders so we can all get back to our jobs and families.

M_McCormackMP The Federal Govt dosnt need to challenge the closures, the Biosecurity Act actually sets out a way the Federal Govt can take control of state borders. Grow some balls and take back control of the response to the so called pandemic in this country from the state clowns!

M_McCormackMP State border closures are the stuff of police states and dictatorships. Open the borders now !

M_McCormackMP

M_McCormackMP So they should it is unconstitutional

M_McCormackMP

M_McCormackMP Omg bring it on please.

M_McCormackMP Right now the Australian economy is in serious trouble and the main reasons all border closures. Unless quick action is taken, Australia will go into a real depression unlike anything that existing people have ever experienced. This is for real!

M_McCormackMP Open em up Michael... QLD can trace, isolate, & supress if a case sneaks up from NSW..... as NSW have shown thru cases sneaking in from Vic.

M_McCormackMP What the hell are they waiting for ? The Messiah ?! FFS do something NOW !

M_McCormackMP Do not waste the time on this. It is better to do a federation reform instead. We all have a passport with AUSTRALIA on it, not the states. Anyway there are tooooo many governments, politicians, bureaucrats for a country with 24 mil people. More power to the people🙏

M_McCormackMP You had your chance with Clive Palmer and then you slipped some information to Mark McGowan and then pulled out of the court action.

M_McCormackMP Please do it and kick Palachook and the other imbeciles in the backside whilst your at it. For low risk states to lock each other out is plain madness and bastardry.

M_McCormackMP JUST BLOODY DO IT ScottMorrisonMP

M_McCormackMP About time

M_McCormackMP fake news, the legal and medical protection advice is sound...McCormick as irrelevant as usual.

M_McCormackMP Strip Andrews of his powers force him to reopen the economy

M_McCormackMP Why didn’t you stay in the last one ?
