UNSW Economics Professor Gigi Foster says one of the things she is really hoping for from Tuesday's budget 'is a transition away from some of the handout programs' and towards programs that actually encourage investment.

UNSW Economics Professor Gigi Foster says one of the things she is really hoping for from Tuesday's budget "is a transition away from some of the handout programs" and towards programs that actually encourage investment.

"And encourage decision making by individuals that will help to build the economy get us back as quickly as possible to full employment," Professor Foster told Sky News host Chris Kenny. "And get back to a situation where the private sector is healthy and innovative. "So that's really what I'd like to see." The federal budget will be revealed on Tuesday evening.
