The chairperson of the House Committee on Economic Affairs on Tuesday urged the Senate to act on bills aimed at liberalizing the economy, usher in competitive industries, and provide the much- needed investments that will pave the way for the country’s gradual recovery from the debilitating economic impact of COVID 19.AAMBIS-OWA Partylist Rep. Sharon Garin aired the call as she defended the three legislative measures that the Lower House has passed and sent to the Senate for action.
Garin said the three bills have been endorsed for enactment by the National Economic and Development Authority . She said the bills will make the Philippines more accessible to foreign investments and open new economic opportunities for Filipinos. “These economic reforms will boost the country’s performance and competitiveness. By reducing some restrictions, we can look forward to more jobs being generated, improved quality of human resource, and sustainable economic growth,” Garin said.
