's border policy and the state's economy have dominated a debate between Anastacia Palaszczuk and Deb Frecklington just days out from the state election.

Ms Frecklington said her government would create COVID-safe plans so people could attend funerals or get urgent medical treatment across borders.

Palaszczuk and Frecklington pitch their plans to Queenslanders ahead of Saturday's election | Sky News AustraliaThe Queensland Leaders forum hosted by Sky News and The Courier-Mail has begun with both Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington outlining their credentials and plans for the sunshine state.\n\nMs Frecklington drew the battlelines for her campaign focussing on reinvigorating the Queensland economy to make it a “powerhouse again,” whilst homing in on drought proofing regional Queensland.\n\nShe said the Liberal National Party has a “big, bold, visionary plan” to grow the economy and create jobs throughout Queensland, which will ensure Queensland is the “best place to live and the best place to get a job”.\n\nThe Opposition Leader once again spruiked her economic policies including the $1.1 billion stimulus through the $300 registration rebate, and the Bradfield Scheme which she said would create jobs, “secure our children’s future” and drought proof regional Queensland.\n\nThe Premier in contrast highlighted her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst claiming her “strong measures on the border” reopened the Queensland economy.\n\nMs Palaszczuk said her number one priority has been to keep Queenslanders safe, which she claims has in turn enabled the Queensland economy to flourish.\n\nThe Queensland border to NSW has been closed for a majority of the COVID-19 pandemic with the premier setting tough community transmission benchmarks for NSW to meet in order for the borders to reopen.\n\nThe premier also emphasised the need to return people to work and build Queensland’s manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.\n AnnastaciaMP DebFrecklington Which one is supported by big business and the banks more?
