He noted that these are some of the services he had hoped could be built years ago when, as vice president for President Barack Obama, he wrote the White House's budget request for Amtrak. “What this means is that towns and cities that have been in danger of being left out or left behind will be back in the game,“ he said.Biden invoked the specter of competition with China, noting that it “already has 23,000 miles of high-speed rail at 220 miles per hour.”
At least the cost will be cheaper than the cost of the secret service having to go golfing & ski trips with the former administration. Now THAT was a blatant waste of resources !

You really need a vehicle to get around Atlanta and Charlotte, car/bus/bike whatever. Maybe instead of paying for Amtrak ticket and a rental car, you could just drive the little over 4 hrs and potus let taxpayers keep the $ you’d spend on that Amtrak expansion!
