KULAI: Johor is developing the Jemaluang Dairy Valley (JDV) in Mersing via its state investment arm Johor Corporation (JCorp).

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said JCorp would be looking for strategic partners to invest in the project with a minimal investment of RM100mil.

"The project will take off this year and we are focusing on producing fresh milk at the initial stage," said Hasni. Hasni said the 243ha JDV would benefit local dairy farmers in Mersing as there would be about 20 satellite farms surrounding the area. Separately, Hasni hoped the Federal Government could speed up the construction of the East Coast Highway 4 in the second or third rolling plan under the 12th Malaysia Plan .
