Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke has raised concern about R1 billion spent by municipalities to hire consultants despite having people in the finance divisions doing the same job.
Maluleke said R1bn was spent on consultants in some of the municipalities whose finances were not in order. Consultants were hired to do basic things in municipalities. “Worryingly the municipalities that use the consultants the most - and they pay them most of the money - are those that end up with adverse or disclaimer audit opinions,” said Maluleke.
After more than 20 years you admit it now only? Seriously, it is criminal how these people stole money and still blame whites! This must stop and any color should do the jobs where they failed. We were a 1st world country but these people made us 3rd world.
The Municipalities a filled with people working in departments. Yet everything is still outsourced while these people pay huge moneys every month.

OUTASA That's cause the people are employed for stats & not cause they have the ability to perform the job. Clean out the unable & dead wood then the you wouldn't have to spend billions.
