The state government's crisis cabinet held a meeting on Wednesday night where they signed off on the roadmap out of coronavirus lockdown amid a relentless outbreak of the Delta strain.
But NSW’s top doctor advocated for a more careful plan for reopening, suggesting 80-85 per cent vaccination coverage would be better suited to avoid the risk of re-entering lockdown at a later date. She argued delaying the reopening by a short period of time would mitigate the risk but went on to agree with the easing of restrictions once the goal of 70 per cent double-dose is achieved.
We need monoclonal antibody treatment at community infusion centers for high risk covid patients. It will greatly reduce hospital and ICU overcrowding. Recent double blind studies show a 70% reduction in hospitalisation of high risk patients if administered in the first 5 days.
