Revolut is to start paying customers interest on money put away through its Vaults automatic saving function, it’s understood.

The digital bank has proven hugely popular in Ireland since its launch in 2015, with more than 1.7 million customers signed up since then. Since March, Irish users have been able to open a bank account with Revolut after it was awarded a full banking licence by the European Central Bank last December.

ChasTaylor Note Chase UK bank pays 1.5% interest paying (must be UK resident), bunq pays 0.9% interest but seems you pay a monthly fee. RevolutApp is paying 0.7% interest in UK which appears to be the vaults model planned for a Ireland.
