The governors were concerned about the deteriorating state of the economy and the ripple effect on the nation ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Earlier in the week, a PREMIUM TIMES analysis of Nigeria’s external reserves revealed that the figures amount to only $15 billion, well below the $36 billion balance on the gross external reserves claimed by the central bank. With the nation spending N5.9 trillion on imports in the first quarter of the year, reserves of $15 billion would barely cover four months of imports.

There would be one proverbial straw that would break Nigerian masses back and when that happens, the flesh and blood of politicians and the haves will mop the streets of Nigeria…take that to the BANK…it’s a time BOMB.

Only a mad person will still support APC with all their evil and wickedness.

They left the real problem and want to kill Nigerians with more hardship. Rather than reduce their over bloated expenses , inflated budget and their diversion of government revenue to private pocket.

Mad people

Wetin this country need na Sri Lanka.

I see nowhere the Politician is taking a cut in all these measures. No reduction in the cost of ther spending or allowances, but the average Nigerian bears the brunt in this present economy. E ti sofodanu!

First, retired Governors' unprintable emoluments and serving Governors' humongous security votes must go. These are the only waste pipes in our States. Then, Governors must begin to produce in order to have revenue.

Allah ya isa

There is no sign of their giving up any of the perquisites of their office, just heaping more load on the suffering.

Copy and paste governors. They are busy making money for themselves and have no time to know what the issues are.

Whether employed or not, you couldn't provide them with jobs but feel is a right to collect from them. 🤷‍♂️

This wonderful and realistic submission... I will add to the Submission 1. Impose Compulsory Health Insurance for small and large businesses, and make health care services to survive only by health insurance subscription. 2. Impose compulsory minimum wages for all businesses.

I don't blame them,it's the masses I blamed, how I wished Nigeria can do what Sri Lankan did to these people,I'm sure they will never come up with these their st.upid thought of collecting n100 from those or could barely feed and people that are unemployed.

Why is your site filled with spam ads?

Those governors want people earning 30k or less to be paying 100 naira while they keep their fat salaries, security vote and other benefits.with all the price increase of foodstuffs and goods that have gone sky high.they also want VAT to be increased to 10% then 20%.MADNESS!

...offer federal civil servants who are older than 50 years a one-off retirement package to exit the service, this means all politicians must Retire. This is good.

Buhari said that he will be paying unemployed youths money and now, those unemployed people earning whatever and whenever they can are meant to pay despite the fact they were betrayed? Interesting times.

First they should cancel the seating allowance for National Assembly.

na God go punish una.

Mad cows in govt want to tax the masses for their flamboyant life styles

My own : what is the politician collecting exorbitant Amount of money doing about it? why don’t they start by slashing their salaries and bonuses by 80% They always find ways to always make the poor masses languish in pains

Werey people

God punish their papa left yansh.

rainbowsynergie After stealing us dry, you then propose to tax even unemployed Nigerian's which you will eventually steal. Shame on APC govt they should be apologizing to Nigerian's rather than running for elections But again D gullible few will still vote for them because na my tribe man de run

Taxing Nigerians or asking them to pay levies is not the issue. The issue is the political class that uses the money to maintain their flamboyant life styles. What has Buhari, governors, senators and rep members done about their copious entitlements? Selfish rulers.

Having read the article, I've not seen where they advice a reduction in their own salaries and expenses, reducing state and fed house of assembly jumbo and undeserved salaries or where they advice buhari to cease his numerous useless foreign trips. Economy kee ol of dem sef

Just get out we are tired........

...I thought the APC supporters said the economy was doing well. One was even comparing Nigeria's economy to that of Japan, yes you heard me right, JAPAN

I can bet non of it will affect them or they lifestyle.

I can something is behind all dis there plans

But the economy is going well na..

The only reasonable step Buhari can take now is to step out

When one can't take a step to move forward, now ask to take many steps

To whom it may concern. 🤣 😂

Hahaha 😂😂.. Change even take one step since 2015? Abeg guys don't bother yourselves.. He knows what he's doing

So how many him come take 🙄

Long overdue.
