HEAD SCRATCHER: One researcher claims the number drawing disproportionately targets certain communities.

Raising Cane's CEO AJ Kumaran shares why he bought 50,000 lottery tickets for all his employees as the Mega Millions jackpot hits $810 million.as a form of systemic racism that targets poor Black and Brown communities across America. with one lucky resident winning a historic $2.04 billion. The odds were 1 in 292.2 million.

People wait in line to buy their Mega Millions lottery tickets at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Chino Hills, California, on July 28, 2022. Les Bernal, the national director of Stop Predatory Gambling, called the lottery a form of"consumer financial fraud" and a form of"systemic racism." The piece also highlighted how stores selling lottery tickets are more likely to be located in poor communities of every state. The state money generated from the lottery sales often do not feed back into the communities, but rather into colleges and higher-income school districts. CNN also pointed to a report from 1999, which found that Black Americans, high-school dropouts and low-income people played the lottery on a more frequent basis.

LOL these people will literally complain about everything that doesn’t go their way. It must be exhausting to play the victim everyday.

All gambling is aimed at people without money. Maybe all gambling should be abolished.

Seriously 🤣

Poor people are usually stupid, that's why they have no money. If they were not buying powerball, they'd just be wasting their money on something else.

Lottery balls are white and racist

It isn't racist... But it is absolutely predatory. But the studies own admission they are targeting low income households, not black or brown households. It remains nothing more than a tax on the foolish.

There is a reason why poor people stay poor. It is not racism though it is poor decision making ,and spoiler alert poor whites buy them as well.

😂

Why is the race card always pulled? I have blue collar white relatives that spend a fortune on this lottery scam. It's not a race issue, but rather an issue with uneducated folks.

Money Management 101, some of us don't blow our hard earned dollars every week on lottery tiks. It's called priorities.

Not by the person who won.

Everything is racist.

Just like student loans, no one forced them to buy it.

Lottery supposedly benefits senior citizens. I presume seniors of all races never saw a benefit.

Can we start to accuse the accusers of systemic accusations?

If you wanna win the lottery, ya gotta buy a fuckin ticket!!!

Now do alcohol & tobacco.

Don’t gamble with what you can’t afford to lose 🤨

I'd not disproportionate if you win the lotto and give it to blm and ncaap baha like we know where that money goes if you did.

no its not racist each to its own its the natural order of things law of attraction
