Mr Molan said it “always comes back to the government in a period of time like this where the threat is difficult to define”.
“What we can’t afford to do – is to wait till March of next year, get an answer from the strategic defence review in March of next year then take nine months to figure out what we’re going to do then take another year to figure out how we’re going to finance it,” Mr Molan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
