Three top Finance Canada officials — deputy minister Michael Sabia and assistant deputy ministers Isabelle Jacques and Rhys Mendes — were grilled by Public Order Emergency Commission counsel Gordon Cameron on Thursday about the federal government’s controversial use of the Emergencies Act to freeze key Freedom Convoy participants’ financial accounts during last winter’s protest against pandemic restrictions.
