PETALING JAYA: The priorities of the new government should be on resuscitating the economy and reducing the cost of living, says Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) president Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan.

“I believe that this needs to be done with the government, businesses and people working together,” he said.

In a statement, Goh noted the “lean” feature of the Cabinet named by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He said that the forthcoming announcement of the line-up of deputy ministers should not result in a “bloated” administration.“The Prime Minister should appoint more women policy makers, including Chinese women, to steer the country to greater heights,“ he said.
