Labor’s 2025 plan to double taxes on super accounts holding over $3 million is “not just about the top end of town” as the policy will affect “generations to come”, says Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume.

Her comments follow estimations the doubled superannuation taxes will affect 10 per cent of the Australian population by 2050 amid the rising inflation crisis.

“They’ve developed a policy that by its intentional design features will cost Australians more and more as the years go on,” Ms Hume told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

The concessions the LNP hands out to wealthy people will last for generations. So will the poverty and the increasing inequality.

Keep digging, Hume

FakeNews by the MurdochGutterMedia. ThisIsNotJournalism auspol LNPCrimeFamily

Mummy can just drink another cocktail. MurdochRoyalCommission

The piggy bank is smarter than Jane Hume

How exactly? Stop lying newscorpse

So now we have to mourn for the next generation of grifters lest they starve

Hume has no idea

More lies

Robodebt would affect millions…….not that you cared. Robodebt

When in opposition one hears all rubbish. What is Sky news Australia is missing out on whilst the labor is in power as the whole program is always the labor is wrong poor old Murdoch how could one believe their crap soon they will be against the whole of labor Australian states

Tell us how they are going to pay your trilion you libs left us in debt get on the supermarkets crooks for putting up prices unnecessary this rise should not be passed to banks for the lending of money prior as that is breaking the contract

ON EARNINGS! On EARNINGS. Most people are in favour of the policy.

It's not actually doubling the tax but don't let the truth get in the way of dogsht.

The 'generations' being the top 10%. Also known as the 'top end of town'. I wonder why the Libs are so exercised over this, when they did absolutely nothing about indexing income taxes for 9 years? Is that because they're all in the top tax bracket anyway?

Hahahahahahahahaha!

Jane Hume’ comments are false and misleading. Either she is lying or she doesn’t understand how the super tax works.

Otherwise known as 'halving' the rorts

It’s not a doubling of tax. It’s a reduction in concession of 25%. Do the Math! So it is not true? Or from Rupert’s on oath:they were lies, we knew they were lies and I endorsed my Murdoch Empire employees repeating them even when we knew and agreed the facts were totally wrong?

Well, if they have $3mil, they should forgo the subsidies we give them. This is our tax$$ going to your millionaire & billionaire friends SenatorHume U Libs allowed people to die from your illegal robodebt! Knowly, deliberately killed 2030 innocent people -manslaughter auspol

Jane Hume has laid an egg clutching at straws .And as usualpt making sense.

So, a person enters the workforce in 2023 on average weekly earnings of $94k pa. Even if they get a 3% pay rise each and every year and receive an average return of 5% pa on their super, they would still not hit $3mm by age 60. And that’s without any blips such as the GFC.

That's a mouldy pile of absolute arse biscuits, Jane, and you know it.

I’m not sure who should be more embarrassed for the inane headline - Sky News, or Jane Hume. Self deprecation is one thing but don’t embarrass yourself.

My heart bleeds for the rich with 3mill plus in their super accounts. What difference does it make what’s implemented when it can be undone at the next Federal Election.

Really struggling to come up with an even slightly relatable angle to being against this now that everyone has heard the bracket numbers huh

Gee this message is really cutting through

Some one show me the extreme eye roll emoji
