Google says it won't promote as many employees to senior roles this year, citing a slowdown in growth

In an email to staff, Google cited a slowdown in growth.Google has told employees it will reduce the number of promotions to senior and leadership roles this year, citing a slowdown in growth.

"The process is manager-led and will be largely similar to last year — though with our slower pace of hiring, we are planning for fewer promotions into L6 and above than when Google was growing quickly," read the email, which was sent by the"GRAD team" and seen by Insider.
