In a leaked recording, an Amazon HR executive hints at rehiring employees who were laid off

That was the suggestion from Ian Wilson, a human resources VP at, when he was asked by an employee during an internal town hall meeting last month about potentially redeploying recently laid off people at Amazon.

"How do we really proactively extend an invitation to any of those Amazonians that are ready to return and resume their career with us? How do we make those opportunities available?" he added. In an email to Insider, an Amazon spokesperson wrote that"some of these remarks lack important context," then noted that Wilson gave a fuller answer when asked about the recent role eliminations and Amazon's Leadership Principles.

The only issue is, if they already have a new job (what most of them probably already do): Why would you quit and return? Because even if you consider doing it, could you rely on Amazon to not quit you again in lets say 4 Months because their management fucked up again?
