published last month, the CMA said it was unable to place"material weight" on Microsoft's agreement when considering the proposed Activision Blizzard acquisition, as there was"no certainty [the deal would] lead to CoD becoming available on Nintendo". Elaborating further, it highlighted the"technical limitations" that"would need to be overcome for Call of Duty to become available for Nintendo Switch.
The company added,"The Activision development team have a long history of optimising game performance for available hardware capabilities", and that"the Parties are confident that in addition to Warzone, CoD buy-to-play titles can be optimised to run on the Nintendo Switch in a timely manner using standard techniques which have been used to bring games such as Apex Legends, Doom Eternal, Fortnite and Crysis 3 to the Switch.
The CMA's final ruling on Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is set to be published on 26th April, a day after the deadline set by European regulators.
🤣
Well they didn't say which call of duty
Activision we're not when they ran their own tests. Hence why it didn't come out.
Microsoft currently have about 26 exclusive games in development hell yet they’re confident they can run a 100gb game on the underpowered Switch. They talk so much 💩
I mean if it’s cloud based, or massively downgraded at 30fps 420p
Call of duty on the Switch
Must be the mobile version or on switch 2, Nintendo just need to match Xbox Series S performance at 720p and get all current gen games on the platform. Steamdeck shows it now has competition.
The only Call of Duty that would work on Switch is a port of COD Mobile, any other game would need to be basically demolished visually and the FPS reduced to even stand a chance. Making the Switch version drastically inferior especially with cross-play
Incoming armchair developers....
Unless it's a cloud version, doubtful. Apex Legends for example isn't even visually demanding and that kinda struggles? It's ugly and it's hard to kind of do anything? Call of Duty is 3x more visually demanding. But who knows, maybe they'll prove us wrong.
Mk11 'runs' on it too. It still was probably not worth porting. Just respect the players. Also, eu regulatory body for porting games? Cool.
Nintendo can barely get games to run on the Switch
lol 🤣
1 - can it buggery 2 - I don't think I've seen a single Switch owner clamouring to get CoD on the system 🤷🏻♂️
