The ringgit kicked off firmer today at 4.4850/4.4950 versus the greenback from yesterday’s closing rate of 4.4925/4.4965.
Though the ringgit was weaker against the US dollar, Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said it was holding up well against the yen, the pound sterling, Australian dollar, renminbi and rupiah. It also traded better against other Asean counterparts, appreciating against the baht, the Singapore dollar and the Philippine peso.
