At this point, I had pretty good connections in the Roblox community, which is very tight-knit and has dedicated users. Being immersed in that from a very young age helped me build a name for myself.When I started editing, my edits were terrible. I'm grateful for the people who were willing to hire me when I didn't have the greatest editing skills.
I'd also advise that people work with smaller creators first and charge smaller rates. I initially charged $50 a video, and my current rate is $175 for a long-form video — a video longer than three minutes. For me, it's also been helpful to find regular clients. I don't jump around. Every time you work with a new creator, the learning process restarts from zero, because all of them have different needs and styles. Creators value somebody who's reliable and can shape their editing style into what they want.I have considered quitting editing to focus on making my own videos, and I have a lot of respect for people who do that.
