The Chancellor has insisted the economy is on the 'right track' amid food inflation concerns

The chancellor tries to calm fears as food prices have risen by 19.2%.The Chancellor has insisted the UK's economy "is on the right track”, despite inflation remaining in double digits.

“That’s why we have a plan and if we’re going to reduce pressures on families it’s absolutely essential that we stick to that plan and we see it through so we halve inflation this year, as the prime minster has promised”. He said while the core inflation is higher in the UK than other European countries, places like Germany have a higher rate of food inflation.

It's all about profit companies do not care about people. All they see is how much money they can get out of people energy, petrol, anything,they just don't care, I can't see the prices ever coming down now People are used to paying rip-off prices now

I can't count how many times I've paid for people's shopping who are short by a few £ at the till. It's a huge problem and being ignored .

No worries the BoE big chief will increase interest rates in a misguided attempt to gain control. It will fai like all the other IR hikes, as the prices go up, people still need to eat, drink and buy fuel.

Real term wage decreases, double digit inflation. If you keep pulling at both ends, something will break.

Yup just where we need to be highest prices on essential food items, NHS in crisis with strikes, stabbings and shootings, no tangible work in migration , Sunak happily doing more dodgy deals and the Uber rich just raking it in. Fantastic!
