Acquisitions of Brazilian soccer clubs by Miami investment firm 777 Partners and American businessman John Textor encouraged Treecorp, a private-equity firm in São Paulo, to buy the Coritiba team

Treecorp would own a 90% stake in Coritiba Foot Ball Club, based in Paraná state’s city of Curitiba, once the deal closes. Valued at 1.3 billion reais, or about $267.4 million, the transaction follows several similar investments that came after the 2021 passage.
