To choose the firms on this list, we spoke with journalists, clients, in-house PR pros, and owners of larger agencies who often work with boutique firms. Its size means August 28 can take on quirkier independents, including Golden Rock Inn in Nevis and Greece's luxury Katikies group. The firm is known for selective media placements, targeting high-value outlets including Town & Country, Cool Hunting, and the Financial Times.

For the luxury furnishings retailer Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, a longtime client, the firm promoted a collaboration with the A-list designer Rafael de Cárdenas across traditional and digital channels, generating more than 450 million impressions. When Lalique unveiled its capsule with the artist James Turrell during Paris Art Basel, the agency's campaign generated over 700 million impressions.

Broadening its luxury base beyond clothing, the 20-person firm handles global media for Bulgari Hotels, whose Rome opening earned a huge Wall Street Journal spread in June. LGC's digital division manages social channels, digital storytelling, and influencer relations for client brands. Hall also helped them navigate the treacherous COVID-19 years with business pivots and critical messaging.

Dallos comes to media from the inside, having managed in-house PR at CNN, Condé Nast, and Wenner Media brands.Brenner Thomas was a national fashion reporter at WWD; Jeffrey Schneider led ABC News' communications for a decade. Since founding The Lead PR in 2014, the pair have built a dual specialty around media and entertainment as well as causes and social issues.

With a team of 14 spread across New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, the agency also represents clients including the superfood brand 8Greens, the fine-jewelry maker Mimi So, and the skincare label Zelens.Kathleen Lucente's Austin, Texas, firm calls its specialty"disruptive tech verticals.
