JB Were chief investment officer Sally Auld says the best that people can hope for is that interest rates don’t go up any higher, but rates will stay elevated for an extended period. Australia’s services sector inflation was proving sticky: “The best we can hope for is that rates don’t go up any more,” Ms Auld told a Property Council of Australia conference in Adelaide.
The local players are trying to assess where valuations are at in a relative sense, and whether further pain is likely.
