A 5c coin in your wallet could be worth a lot more due to a manufacturing error. The coin features the late Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy on both sides. “In 2007, they accidentally produced a 5c piece that had the Queen’s head on both sides,” coin expert David Jobson told 7NEWS. “So it’s quite a striking error, and they’re a lot easier to notice in your change.” Joel Kandiah, who runs a TikTok account called thehistoryofmoney, shared a video featuring the double-headed coin.

While society is becoming increasingly cashless, it’s worth taking a look at your coins to see if they’re all they seem to be. One 50c coin could be worth almost $15,000. Only two of the coins are known to be in circulation — but more could exist.
