"We're not going to be forecasting a serious recession," Macklem told reporters in a call from Marrakech, Morocco, where he was attending an IMF meeting. The rate announcement will be accompanied by an update of the bank's economic forecasts. Barbara McQuade explained why the former president now has a critical decision to make in his election interference case, which could end with even more scrutiny.

NEW YORK -Digital World Acquisition Corp, the SPAC that plans to merge with former U.S. President Donald Trump's media and technology company, said this week it would return to investors $533 million raised for the deal, after some have already backtracked on $467 million of commitments.
