The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF continued to decline on Wednesday, dropping to another round of 16-year lows as U.S. Treasurys saw renewed selling.
The iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF AGG, which tracks the closely followed U.S. Bloomberg Aggregate Bond Index, the main gauge of performance for investment-grade bonds, was dropping 0.3%, on pace for its lowest close since Oct. 13, 2008. TLT had dropped earlier this month to its lowest since August 2007, but then the fund rebounded as the bond-market rout abated after a “flight-to-safety” trade was sparked by the conflict between Israel and Hamas, causing longer-term bond prices to jump and their yields to fall.
