Parents have been warned to be vigilant after the potentially dangerous snack was spotted in parts of the capitalRebecca Harris, St Alban’s primary and nursery school in Holborn, wrote to parents warning them to be "very careful" of anyone giving food to their children."The name of this snack is 'Astrosnacks' and the product has been the cause of extremely violent bouts of sickness and severe hallucinations.
"There has been an emergency warning issued by the Metropolitan police who are currently investigating the issue." The letter added: "At the moment the key areas being targeted are Islington, Archway and Highgate with reports that the focus could be shifting to the Camden area, so please be very careful in the event that anyone tries to give this product to your child."London Trading Standards issued a warning to headteachers making them aware of the potentially dangerous snack - which features a cartoon alien on the packaging.
St James CofE Primary School in Bermondsey, South East London, issued an update to parents on its website quoting the Trading Standards notice."They cause people to be violently sick and have severe hallucinations."They are being sold around Islington, Highgate and Archway but may move into other parts of London."A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating - but are unable to fully substantiate the claim.
