Stocks soared Thursday as Treasury yields retreated after the Federal Reserve a day earlier signaled a wait-and-see approach on further rate hikes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +1.70% surged 565 points, or 1.

7%, to close near 33,839, according to preliminary figures. The S&P 500 SPX, +1.89% advanced 1.9%, for its biggest one-day gains since April 27, according to FactSet, while the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.78% jumped 1.8%.
