Amazon will close its physical clothing stores next week after about 17 months of operation, marking another set of brick-and-mortar shutdowns for the company, which has closed aThe two stores will close Nov. 9 as Amazon looks to prioritize physical retail in the form of its grocery store businesses, Amazon Spokesperson Kristen Kish told

Amazon is “working closely” with the stores’ employees to help them find new roles within the company, Kish said, adding Amazon would focus on its online apparel platform, which raked in about, a figure largely dwarfed by the tech giant’s online store, which brought in more than $57 billion for the company in the same period.Amazon’s stock rose a fraction of a percent Thursday and closed at $138.07.
