The chairman of the Centre for Transparency Advocacy, Dr. Chima Amadi, stated that economic remedies from the IMF and World Bank cannot revive the Nigerian economy. He also mentioned that their policies may not be able to lift 200 million Nigerians out of poverty.
Amadi emphasized the need for developing countries to have autonomy in choosing policies that suit their conditions. He criticized Nigeria's high inflation rate and compared the country's economic development to that of Indonesia.
