Mboweni has asked minister of public enterprises Pravin Gordhan for a list of non-core state assets and has been provided with an “extensive list”, he said while being interviewed and answering questions from callers on Power FM radio on Sunday night.Mboweni, a former Reserve Bank governor who took office in October, has repeatedly questioned the logic of holding onto loss-making state companies, raising the ire of the labour union allies of ANC that oppose privatisation.

The finance minister also said that a new commissioner of the SA Revenue Service will be appointed next week and a new board for the Public Investment Corporation, which manages the pensions of state workers, will be constituted within two weeks. Both institutions have been embroiled in scandals.

so lets see..TitoMboweni wants to sell off the good stuff that makes a profit (cos its easy to sell and there are buyers)and then most likely pour all the money into the lossmakers that means in the end the taxpayer has all the loss makers(still) and all the good stuff is gone

I love Tito”s frankness, it won’t earn him a lot of friends in the tripartite that promotes corruption and state capture, but speak Minister you’ve supplied the aloe medicine 👏🏽👏🏽

Tito Mboweni blasted on social media for claiming SA is too 'Africanist''You go get to the airport through immigration, most of the immigration officials would be Africans, yet they should really be representing the demographics of the country, which is black and white, male and female.' Tito is right. We cry when companies are all white 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Why is that same emphasis made on senior management of private sector companies as well? We can't have 50/50 numbers because Indians ,colourds and white are the minority, but I do think that we should ensure that every sector represents our diversity.
