PETALING JAYA: Maybank’s funds’ transfer services suffered from an outage for at least six hours today, with users on social media reporting they were unable to get security codes or TAC numbers to complete transfers across banks.
Another user on the Lowyat forum claimed a debit card purchase did not go through, while another user said she was unable to get any TAC numbers. However, as of 8.30pm, some users on Twitter had begun to report that their online fund transfer services had begun to work again. But at the same time, new complaints of being unable to transfer money cropped up.
Maybank tweeted that its interbank transfer system, TAC texts to all mobile phones, reloads and “MEPS” system were experiencing “intermittent” issues.“Therefore, you may utilise all the facilities as usual. We regret the unpleasant experience earlier,” a customer service executive told a customer on Maybank’s Facebook page.
