Wayne Carey has threatened to quit watching the AFL if Essendon forward Peter Wright is suspended at the tribunal on Tuesday. Wright is facing a lengthy ban after being charged with rough conduct for his bracing bump on Sydney’s Harry Cunningham on Saturday night. The forward’s high-speed hit was graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact. Debate has raged around the possible penalty, including whether there should be one at all — and Carey has his foot firmly on one side.
